My friend Adele, used to say...'Oh you need to go and get stephed'...It was her way of single handedly drumming up business while we were at Uni together.  That was just her way.  It was her catchphrase that brought me to my business name getteffed! all those years ago...

Anyway, my story is that I am foremost a Creative Person, an Artist, a Musician, a Hair Stylist and a Mother to two gorgeous boys...the ultimate in creativity.

I've been a Hair Stylist for 23 years - god that makes me sound old I know!  But when you have a passion for anything, age is never a negative part of the equation, it becomes part of a unique, insightful knowledge and experience base, that can only be acquired over time.

My Hair education has never stopped, after all I am a creative academic.  I love learning and being part of the Hair Industry in my own way...in fact as each year passes, I feel my passion for what I do only increases.  Who knew!  I began this career on a whim and it's grown into a large part of how I define myself on a daily basis..

Basically hair rocks and I'm so lucky.

I've worked extensively with mainly two hair ranges and that is Wella and Loreal Professionnel.  I have acquired Specialist Colour levels in both companies, however now my focus in with Loreal.  My hair education is self driven and I am continually attending Seminars, Training events, Webinars, and in-house educationals wherever possible, in the fields that most appeal to me.  For example, I do not perm hair! Lol! You'll need another specialist for that!

I've done hair for famous people, rock stars, actors, my kids, me...I've given hairdo's away for nix when I've come across someone that just can't afford it.   I've worked on film clips, photo shoots, catwalk/events my whole career.  I've done hair in my laundry and hair in top Australian salons...

I've been an educator for GHD, worked on stage for Wella, been a Salon Trainer, I've had my work published, yet also found myself living as a poor struggling Artist more times than not...it's all part of it. :)

My true passions in with hair are Hair Styling, Hair Colour (especially Foiling & Balayage), Hair Cutting (especially difficult hair & razoring) and Special Occasion/Wedding Hair.

So after all is said and done, I am a creative soul who loves helping people feel better about who they are through their hair and the time we spend together...the beauty of it all, is that practicing the art of hair helps me feel good too and keeps that dreaded depression at bay.

Hair is that powerful and I am grateful. Rock on.
